Some of the most meaningful work I’ve done has been writing songs for other people.
There’s something humbling about being trusted with someone’s story – a marriage, a friendship, a life lived well, a loss, an issue or cause that’s close to the heart. I take that responsibility seriously. A good song can hold memory and feeling in a way few other things can.

How it works
We begin with a short written questionnaire to gather key memories, phrases and themes.
From there, we meet for a 45-minute conversation, in person or via Zoom. I listen carefully and ask questions. Often the truest lines surface there.
I then write the lyrics and share a draft with you for feedback. Once the words feel right, I complete the music and record a studio-quality acoustic version.
You’ll receive high-resolution audio files and a designed lyric sheet.
The process usually takes three to four weeks.
I take on a limited number of commissions each year so each one receives proper care.

Songwriting Consultation
$250 AUD
For those writing their own song and wanting thoughtful guidance.
Includes:
• 90-minute session (in person or via Zoom)
• Lyric, structure and melody feedback
• Chord and arrangement suggestions
• Practical craft advice
• Brief written follow-up notes
A focused session to help bring clarity and direction to your work.
Custom Lyrics
$600 AUD
For those who would like their story carefully shaped into words.
Includes:
• Initial questionnaire
• 45-minute interview
• Complete original lyric
• One round of considered revisions
You receive a finished lyric that can be set to music by you or a collaborator.
Full Song – Acoustic Studio Version
$1,200 AUD
A complete, original song written and recorded with care.
Includes:
• Initial questionnaire
• 45-minute interview
• Original lyrics and music
• One round of revisions
• Professionally recorded acoustic version (voice and guitar or piano)
• High-resolution WAV and MP3 files
• Designed lyric sheet
This option includes a carefully produced acoustic recording. Expanded arrangements, additional instrumentation, full studio production, mixing and mastering can be arranged separately if desired.
Wedding or Major Milestone Commission
From $1,600 AUD
For weddings, anniversaries, memorials or significant life events where deeper development or performance preparation may be required.
Includes:
• Extended interview process
• Original lyrics and music
• Acoustic studio recording
• Lyric sheet
• Additional refinement time appropriate to the occasion
Live performance or expanded production can be discussed where suitable.
Payment
A 50% deposit secures your place in the schedule, with the balance payable upon completion.
